Guardian Coverage Availability & Fees
Guardian offers several different dental insurance plans, and they can vary quite a bit in their details. You should get to know your specific policy so you can use it to your greatest advantage.
In the meantime, here is a general overview of how your Guardian PPO policy might work:
- Preventive services, such as cleanings, exams and X-rays, are often 100% covered.
- Basic services, like fillings, are frequently up to 80% covered.
- Major treatments, often including crowns and dentures, may be around 50% covered.
- Certain Guardian plans may also partially cover specialty services, such as dental implants or orthodontia.
Your plan is also likely to enforce a deductible, a waiting period before you can receive certain types of coverage and an annual maximum. An annual maximum is a yearly limit on the amount of money that Guardian is willing to pay for approved services.
Since we are in-network with Guardian, we have a contract that manages fees. This can help you to get more value out of your plan than if you visited an out-of-network provider. In some cases, we can even schedule major treatments across calendar years to allow for the use of two annual maximums instead of only one.
